Vokaline
Vokaline is an online program to
learn foreign languages. You can choose from various books and let Vokaline
ask you all the vocabulary. The vocabulary you answered wrong are
remembered and will be shown in a statistic at the end of a category.
Vokaline has got a lot more handy features. For instance the print-on-cards
function, which prints the selected vocabulary on little cards. Afterwards
you can cut out all the cards at once. Another handy function is the exam
mode. It creates an exam-like atmosphere including a mark when handed in.
The only condition is that
you register an account. Everything is free of charge!
An increased
learning effect. You learn your vocabulary faster and better. Another
advantage is that your keyboard typing speed will increase drastically,
because you always have to fill in the words. Plus that way, you will
remember the orthography more exactly than with any other learning method.
There are also other learning methods, so that you can customize the
learning environment your preferences.

Learning Functions
Vokaline provides the following learning modes:
- ask words
- list words
- print words on cards
- write an exam
Before you can use these functions, you must select a book from your
library. You can find it under "Vocabulary" >> "Library". If you did
not select a book for this session, you will be redirected to the library
automatically. Click here for more information on the different learning
functions.
First login,
then go to "Vocabulary" >> "Modeselection", there click on "ask
words". Then you can select a category and click on the button "ask".
Selecting multiple-categories is also possible by holding Ctrl (or Strg)
while clicking. There is also a link called "settings" which redirects you
to the settings page.
Proceed
the same way as you would with the "ask words"-function.
You can find the "print words on cards"-function
under "Vocabulary" >> "Modeselection", there click on "print words on
cards". Select a category and click on "print view". Selecting
multiple-categories is also possible by holding Ctrl (or Strg) while
clicking. Then a new window will be opened with the selected vocabulary
shown in card-format. Now you can print all the front pages by clicking on
the printer symbol or by using the hotkey "Ctrl + P". Afterwards you can
turn all the printed pages and reinsert them into the printer, so that the
blank sides will be printed. Then click on the blue arrow that is pointing
to right. Then click on the printer symbol again. Now you can cut out all
the cards in one go.
This
learning function will put you in an exam-like situation, so that you can
check your learn progress. As usual, this function can be found under
"Vocabulary" >> "Modeselection". There you just have to select a
category and click on the button "write an exam". After you have filled in
all the vocabulary you know, you can click on "hand in" and your exam will
be corrected. You will be shown the statistics and receive a mark for your
exam.
After every session
of the "write an exam"-function and the "ask words"-function, you be shown
some statistics (how many right / wrong words). After every session, the
statistics will be saved in the global statistics, that can be found under
"Vocabulary" >> "Statistics". There the statistics can be archived.
This way you can track your learning process over a longer time period.
If you want to repeat a category, you can activate this button before. When
activated, you will only be asked the vocabulary you have answered wrong
the last time. Like that you can save a lot of time, because you will not
be asked the vocabulary you already know. Your learn efficiency will
increase, you will learn faster and more accurate. That way, you will have
more spare time that you can spend with other activities you like (more).
By the way, this button integrated in all learning functions.
